India’s Polished Diamond Exports Drop 14% in H2
India's exports of cut and polished diamonds during the second half of fiscal year 2016 fell by 13.8% to $10.4 billion from $12.1 billion last year.
Meanwhile, imports of rough plunged by 26% to $6.95 billion from $9.4 billion last year, indicating the decision by Indian manufacturers to slash production due to the high price of rough goods.

Erez Akerman To Step Down As PDE President
Panama Diamond Exchange President Erez Akerman will end his term at the head of Latin America's only WFDB-recognized diamond bourse on October 30.
He will then become managing director of the World Jewelry Hub, and at the same time will be devoted to managing his own company at PDE, Akerman Diamonds.

Reflecting the serious slowdown in the global trade for diamonds, India’s polished exports were down 18.34% and rough imports down 42.9% in July 2015 when compared to the corresponding figures of a year earlier, according to information released by The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).

Sotheby’s To Sell Blue Moon Diamond In Geneva
Sotheby’s will offer the Blue Moon Diamond, among the largest known fancy vivid blue diamonds, for sale at its auction of Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels in Geneva on November 11.
The Blue Moon Diamond was cut from a 29.62-carat rough blue diamond found Petra Diamonds' Cullinan mine in South Africa in January 2014.
