Around 100 exhibitors and several hundred buyers took part on the first day of the third India Diamond Week on the trading floor of the Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) of New York in Manhattan on Monday, the DDC said in a statement. The event is being held in conjunction with India's Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).
The award of certificates to members of the first polishing course took place on Tuesday at the IDE's Modern Manufacturing Center.
Attending the event were IDE President Shmuel Schnitzer, General Director of the Economy Ministry, Amit Lang, and senior members of the Israeli diamond sector, the IDE reported on its web site.
Around 300 members of the Israel Diamond Exchange will be exhibiting their diamond stocks on the trading floor of the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) at the International Diamond Week (IDW) in February.
They will be joined on the IDE trading by members of the Diamond Dealers Club of New York, the Antwerp Diamond Bourse (Beurs voor Diamanthandel).
The Israeli diamond industry will have a major showing at HKTDC’s Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show in March with a large contingent of exhibitors and an enlarged pavilion. In addition, Israeli diamond jewelry will be the stars of the event’s gala dinner fashion show.
This week, the Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) of New York is welcoming hundreds of diamantaires after the holiday season to participate in its second edition of India Diamond Week.
